Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent to support spam detection.
An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to check if you use the service. Gravatar’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After comment approval, your profile image becomes public next to your comment.

Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies lasting one year.
A temporary cookie is set on the login page to check cookie support; it contains no personal data and is removed when you close the browser.
When you log in, several cookies store login and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; display settings last one year. “Remember Me” extends login persistence to two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
Editing or publishing an article places a cookie containing the post ID; it expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the external site. These sites may collect data, use cookies, and apply third-party tracking, including tracking your interactions if you are logged in to those services.

Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand site usage and access patterns. This supports our EU-funded project goal of communicating project results. Google Analytics collects pseudonymized usage data, including device information, pages visited, and interaction patterns.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address appears in the reset email.

How long we retain your data
Comments and metadata are stored indefinitely to recognize and auto-approve follow-up comments.
If users register, we store the personal information provided in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their information anytime (username cannot be changed). Administrators can access and edit this information.

Your data rights
If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold, including data you provided. You may also request erasure of your personal data, except where retention is required for administrative, legal, or security reasons.

Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked by automated spam detection services.
